Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering is a nationwide, academic, and non-profit social organization voluntarily established by Chinese professionals specializing in vibration engineering science and technology. It is a constituent part of China Association for Science and Technology and serves as a crucial societal force in advancing and disseminating knowledge in the field of vibration engineering science and technology.
The Society’s mission is to uphold the unity among a diverse range of vibration engineering scientists and technicians, adhere to the academic ethos of dialectical materialism and seeking truth from facts, maintain autonomy and democratic governance, and foster a culture that respects labor, knowledge, talent, and creativity. The Society champions a spirit of innovation, pragmatism, collaboration, and dedication, upholds the principles of academic democracy, and is forward-looking towards modernization, global engagement, and future advancements.
The Society’s primary focus includes: actively conducting domestic and international academic exchanges within the field of vibration science and technology, fostering international scientific and technological cooperation among the people, and undertaking the editing and publishing scientific and technological books, journals, and audio-visual products. The Society provides scientific and technological consultation on national development strategies, policies, and significant decisions related to the field of vibration science and technology. It also accepts commissions for the evaluation of scientific and technological projects, the appraisal of achievements, the assessment of technical job qualifications, and the editing and review of scientific and technological literature and standards. The Society offers technical consultation and services within the field of vibration science and technology. It conducts continuing education for its members and relevant scientific and technological personnel, and carries out educational activities aimed at enhancing the scientific, technological, and cultural literacy of the entire nation. It popularizes scientific and technological knowledge and promotes advanced technology. The Society identifies and recommends talents within the field of vibration science and technology, and according to regulations, approves commendations and rewards for members and scientific and technological workers who have achieved outstanding results in vibration science and technology activities. The Society organizes relevant businesses and activities to serve its members and organizes other businesses that align with the nature and purpose of this Society.
The Society currently encompasses 29 branches, which include 19 specialized committees and 10 working committees. The Society either sponsors or co-sponsors three scientific journals: the “Journal of Vibration Engineering”, “Journal of Vibration and Shock”, and “Chinese Journal of Geotechnical Engineering”. The Society actively fulfills its role as an academic association by annually hosting more than thirty branded academic events, such as the “Young Scholars Forum of Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering”, “National Vibration Theory and Application Academic Conference”, and “International Conference on Vibration Engineering”. It also conducts branded popular science activities like the “Lecture Hall of Vibration Engineering Technology” and “Online Academic Classroom of Vibration Engineering”. The Society has established the “Science and Technology Award of Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering”, which includes four categories: Science and Technology Award, Youth Science and Technology Award, International Academic Contribution Award, and Engineering Application Innovation Award. The inaugural International Academic Contribution Award of Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering was awarded to Ahsan Kareem from the University of Notre Dame.
Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering warmly welcomes global experts and scholars to join the Society and collectively enhance the exchange and growth in the field of vibration engineering. Foreign members are eligible for a discount on the Society’s published academic publications and related materials. They may also be invited to participate in academic conferences hosted by the Society and avail themselves of other related services.
